If your eyes are swollen after applying false eyelashes, it may be due to factors like allergic reactions, improper operation, or eye infections. Here are some quick rescue measures:

Immediate Removal of False Eyelashes

  • Gently Remove: Use tweezers to gently remove the false eyelashes from the outer corner to the inner corner. If the eyelashes are firmly attached, soak a cotton pad with makeup remover and place it on the eyelashes for a while to dissolve the glue before removal. Avoid excessive force to prevent further damage to the eyes.
  • Clean Residue: After removing the false eyelashes, use a cotton swab dipped in makeup remover to carefully clean the remaining glue on the eyelids and eyelashes. Then, rinse the eye area with clean water and pat dry with a towel.

Cold Compress

  • Use a Cold Compress Object: You can use a clean towel soaked in cold water or a cold compress eye mask. Fold the towel and place it gently on the swollen eyes for about 10-15 minutes each time. Do this 3-4 times a day. The cold temperature can constrict blood vessels, reduce swelling and relieve discomfort.
  • Use Ice Cubes: Wrap a few ice cubes in a plastic bag and then in a thin towel. Apply this to the eyes in the same way as the cold towel. However, be careful not to let the ice cubes touch the skin directly to avoid frostbite.

Medication and Treatment

  • Use Anti-Allergic Drugs: If the swelling is caused by an allergic reaction, you can take oral antihistamines such as loratadine or cetirizine according to the instructions. These can help relieve allergic symptoms. You can also use anti-allergic eye drops such as ketotifen fumarate eye drops under the guidance of a doctor.
  • Apply Anti-Inflammatory Ointment: If the swelling is accompanied by redness, pain and other symptoms of inflammation, it may be an infection. You can apply a small amount of erythromycin eye ointment or tetracycline eye ointment on the eyelid margin under the guidance of a doctor to prevent and treat infection.

Keep Eyes Rested

  • Reduce Eye Use: After the eyes are swollen, avoid using the eyes for a long time, such as looking at electronic devices, reading books, etc. Try to close your eyes and rest more to help the eyes recover.
  • Adjust Sleeping Position: When sleeping, raise the head of the bed slightly or use a higher pillow to promote blood circulation and reduce fluid accumulation in the eye area, which is helpful in reducing swelling.

If the swelling of the eyes does not improve or even worsens, accompanied by symptoms such as blurred vision, severe pain, and increased secretions, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time to avoid delaying the condition.
