Removal Steps

  1. Prepare materials
    • Select an appropriate makeup remover. Oil-based makeup removers are generally more effective in dissolving eyelash glue. You can also choose products specifically designed for eye makeup removal, which are usually more gentle on the delicate eye area. Besides, prepare several cotton pads and cotton swabs.
  2. Initial soak
    • Soak a cotton pad with makeup remover and place it gently over your closed eyes. Keep it in place for about 15 - 30 seconds to allow the makeup remover to fully penetrate and start dissolving the eyelash glue and other eye makeup.
  3. Wipe off the main part of the makeup
    • After soaking, hold the cotton pad and gently wipe from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner. This can remove most of the false eyelashes, as well as eyeshadow and eyeliner. If the false eyelashes have not fallen off completely, use tweezers to gently assist in removing them, being careful not to pull too hard to avoid damaging the natural eyelashes and the skin around the eyes.
  4. Clean the details
    • Dip a cotton swab in makeup remover and use it to carefully clean the remaining glue and makeup in the corners of the eyes, along the lash line, and other hard-to-reach areas. Gently wipe in the direction of the lash growth to avoid getting makeup remover in the eyes.
  5. Rinse and clean
    • Use clean water to rinse your face and eyes to remove the remaining makeup remover and dissolved makeup residues. Then, gently pat dry the eye area with a clean towel or tissue.

Precautions

  • Choose mild products
    • If you have sensitive eyes or skin, opt for makeup removers that are labeled as gentle, non-irritating, and suitable for sensitive skin to avoid causing allergies or irritation.
  • Avoid eye contact
    • Be very careful when using makeup remover to prevent it from getting into your eyes. If makeup remover does get into your eyes accidentally, rinse them immediately with plenty of clean water. If discomfort persists, seek medical attention.
  • Do not rub vigorously
    • The skin around the eyes is very delicate. When removing makeup, avoid rubbing vigorously to prevent stretching the skin and causing wrinkles or other damage.
