Applying false eyelashes by yourself requires some patience and practice. Here are the detailed steps:

  1. Prepare the necessary items
    • False eyelashes: Choose false eyelashes that suit your eye shape and the occasion. For example, natural-looking ones for daily use and more exaggerated ones for parties.
    • Eyelash glue: Select a high-quality eyelash glue that has good adhesion and is easy to remove.
    • Tweezers: A pair of fine-tipped tweezers to handle the false eyelashes.
    • Scissors: To trim the false eyelashes if needed.
    • Eyeliner: Can be used to cover the lash band and make the eyelashes look more natural.
  2. Prepare your natural eyelashes
    • Curl your natural eyelashes: Use an eyelash curler to curl your natural eyelashes before applying false eyelashes. This will make the false eyelashes blend better with your natural ones and create a more dramatic effect. Start from the base of the lashes and hold the curler for a few seconds, then move to the middle and tip of the lashes to curl them in sections.
    • Apply mascara: Apply a thin layer of mascara to your natural eyelashes. This helps to thicken and lengthen your natural lashes and also provides a better surface for the false eyelashes to adhere to.
  3. Trim the false eyelashes
    • Check the length: Hold the false eyelashes against your eye to check if the length is suitable. If the false eyelashes are too long, use scissors to trim them to fit the width of your eye. Usually, it is necessary to trim a little from the outer corner of the eyelashes.
    • Shape the lash band: Some false eyelashes have a thick or rigid lash band. You can gently bend and shape the lash band with your fingers or tweezers to make it more flexible and fit the curve of your eyelid.
  4. Apply the eyelash glue
    • Squeeze out the glue: Squeeze a small amount of eyelash glue onto the back of your hand or a disposable palette.
    • Apply the glue to the lash band: Use the tip of the tweezers to pick up a little glue and apply it evenly along the lash band of the false eyelashes. Make sure to cover the entire lash band, but avoid getting the glue on the lashes themselves.
    • Wait for the glue to become tacky: Let the glue sit for about 15 - 30 seconds until it becomes slightly tacky. This will ensure better adhesion when you apply the false eyelashes.
  5. Attach the false eyelashes
    • Align the lashes: Use tweezers to pick up the false eyelashes and align them with the root of your natural eyelashes. Start from the outer corner of the eye and gradually move towards the inner corner, making sure that the false eyelashes are parallel to your natural lash line.
    • Press the lashes into place: Gently press the false eyelashes onto your natural lash line, starting from the middle and then pressing the outer and inner corners firmly. Use your fingers or the back of the tweezers to press and hold for a few seconds to ensure good adhesion.
  6. Adjust and blend
    • Check the position: After attaching the false eyelashes, check if they are in the correct position and if there are any gaps or unevenness. If necessary, use tweezers to make small adjustments.
    • Blend with eyeliner: Use eyeliner to draw a line along the lash line, covering the lash band of the false eyelashes. This will make the false eyelashes look more natural and blend in with your natural eyelashes. You can also apply a little more mascara to blend the false and natural eyelashes further.
